Valentina's Story:

"I was in a constant negative thought loop. It wasn't just affecting me, it was affecting all the people around me and all areas of my life. I literally couldn't even do the most basic tasks."

Valentina and I had a lovely chat about her skin journey - and the mental impacts of chronic severe eczema.

"I felt like I needed that therapy aspect. I didn't know exactly what I was looking for. When I started looking that day I think like I was considering like talking therapy. I felt like I just needed to have an outlet."

She found me through Instagram and related to a video I posted about how skin conditions impact romantic relationships and intimacy.

"I've never worked with somebody that's actually been through what I've been through. I just immediately felt connected, I felt like I could really identify with you."

Her goals for therapy were:

  • Feel more independent

  • Better communication

  • Improved sleep and anxiety

  • Less self-blame/ more self compassion

  • Managing flares and pain better

The Turning Point

"I expected myself to be in a certain place, and I wasn't. And so then I was blaming myself for that as well. And so I think you really helped me bring myself back to, OK, I'm doing so much. And I can be grateful for that and I can show myself compassion in that. And to just take a breather, you know.

When you're constantly striving for more, you can never be happy in the place where you are. I think that was my issue. To stop chasing something, stop living in the future or even the past, but just be present in the now. That gave me confidence in myself, to then build self-trust and hope."

What tools

really helped you?

"Creating a new identity. It was lovely stepping into that, like, what do I want my future self to be like? Then visualising that in your present. Then you can see, this is what I'm working towards and, what would that version of me do right now? And then, that's how you actually get to that place."

You can watch us talk through her experiences HERE.

Or you can book a free consultation HERE to learn how hypnotherapy can help you.

"I really love that you integrated the brain science, 'cause it's like you don't just get the therapy, but you also learn while you're doing it. Like you actually learn the science behind it. That was really fascinating."

What would you like to highlight about sessions?

"I literally didn't even have to say many words. You just got it. You really understood. I've never experienced something like that working with a professional. I always felt like I had to explain myself in some sort of way and I still didn't feel quite understood. We over explain ourselves and still not feel validated. So yeah, that's really nice to highlight.
